Cochrane sits where Highway 22 meets the 1A, on the Bow Valley bench land northwest of Calgary. It has grown from a ranching crossroads into one of Alberta's fastest-growing towns without losing the things people move here for: the historic downtown, the river pathway system, and a horizon that ends in the front range of the Rockies. James lives here and works from CIR Realty's Cochrane office, which makes this the market he knows house by house.

The communities split naturally. Sunset Ridge and Fireside carry most of the new construction, GlenEagles and Cochrane Heights hold the established view streets, and the original neighbourhoods around downtown, Glenbow and West Valley among them, trade on walkability and mature trees. Riversong watches it all from the south bank of the Bow.

Cochrane draws two buyers at once: Calgary households trading commute minutes for space and small-town rhythm, and out-of-province arrivals who picked the mountains first and the address second. If that second group is you, the relocation process is the right starting point. Otherwise, start with the houses for sale in Cochrane or work through the communities below.
